What are Facebook Lead Ads?
Many marketers are finding great success building awareness and growing their email list using Facebook ads. Facebook’s robust ad platform allows you to hyper-target your ideal audience, build custom audiences with retargeting and list-matching or construct similar audiences based on people who already love your products, services and content.
With Facebook Lead Ads, the user is never taken away from the Facebook news feed. A form within Facebook is prompted if the user clicks your ad and the opt-in can occur right within the feed. This is incredibly convenient for both Facebook, the user and the marketer.
As a marketer, this saves you time, effort and money as you’ll no longer need custom landing pages to complement each ad. With the right copy and creative, your lead ads could see higher conversion rates than traditional ads directing to a dedicated landing page!
Supercharging your Facebook Lead Ads with Zapier
You can use Facebook Lead Ads with AWeber by downloading a CSV file of lead information from Facebook and manually importing them to the AWeber list of your choice.
While this will work just fine, it’s… well… manual.
New subscribers won’t receive your welcome email—or a promised incentive, if you offered one—until you manually import them. This delay can be disruptive to the subscriber experience. Welcome emails are typically the most opened and engaged emails you’ll send, partly because they are sent when a subscriber’s attention and interest in your content has peaked.
This is where automation can help optimize your email funnel.
Using Zapier, leads are automatically passed to AWeber. No need to manually pull the list and import it weekly, daily, or even hourly—you can even use Zapier to send that same lead information to other apps like Airtable, Google Sheets, a CRM or one of 750+ compatible apps. (No, that’s not a typo.)
Once the subscriber is added, they’ll begin receiving your awesome content via AWeber’s email automation options.
This week, Facebook and Zapier teamed up to make this integration even easier for marketers.
You can now select and connect to AWeber directly from Facebook while setting up your Lead Ads. This will require a Zapier account. The option to select AWeber during ad setup will help you build and execute campaigns more efficiently, no coding or technical skills required.
With automatic lead retrieval, new subscribers will hear from you quicker and you’ll have more time to invest in what matters most—growing your business.

It’s important to note that Facebook Lead Ads is a Premium zap, which requires a paid subscription to Zapier. There is a 14-day trial to see if it’s right for you.
AWeber’s Zapier integration is not a Premium zap and you can experiment with integrating AWeber with hundreds of other zaps using a Free account plan.
Please note that by default, confirmed opt-in is turned on for all AWeber integrations. This can be changed to single opt-in. Contact our customer success team to discuss single opt-in options when using Zapier, or other trusted integrations.
