The one thing I’m still confused with when it comes to podcasting is “how do I generate podcasting leads,” additionally to getting people to interact and share my podcast. I think podcasting is good for business because people want to know they’re actually conversing with a real human being and not just an emotionless speaking internet robot or cold salesman looking to sell something.

Hey DNN! 100% agree with your views on podcasting. It’s a great way to let your audience know you are a real human being! I think in regards to generating leads, you have to give your listeners a strong incentive to move over from being a casual listener to an engaged subscriber. This might require a bit extra work to put together an incentive or “lead magnet” to opt-in, but at the end of the day, it’ll definitely be worth it to engage with those listeners through both audio and email. 🙂 Hope that helps! Thanks for listening.

DNN: Podcasting is a long term play. It does not generally create instant leads for your business. It takes time to build up an audience and to build trust with your audience. I agree with Tom that you need a great incentive to get people to move from listener to email subscribe. Also, I recommend that you make sure your podcast directly aligns to your business. It should be a show that your ideal customer is drawn to. In this day of endless content consuming options, the podcasts I see succeeding in terms of conversions to leads are those that target and serve the needs of a narrow niche. Cheers to your success!
