Four Things Small Business Owners Do to Grow Their Businesses
AWeber Surveys Nearly 1,500 Entrepreneurs
Chalfont, Pa. February 5, 2015 – AWeber – Email Marketing surveyed nearly 1,500 small business owners to find out what’s on their agenda to drive success in 2015. Survey results show 4 Traits of the Small Business Owner that help to support their business growth.
Four things small business owners do:
Stay connected – Nearly half (46%) rely on email newsletters to tap into small business and marketing news. Other popular sources for staying informed are social media and blogs.
Focus on digital content – Email, social media and blogging are the three leading areas of focus for small business marketing this year. Compare this to less popular areas of focus such as traditional advertising and tradeshows which shows a continued increase in the use of digital marketing.
Love email – Further supporting the effectiveness of email marketing for business growth, 56% of the small business owners send marketing emails a few times per month and 70% say that email generates additional revenue for their business.
How do you spot a small business owner? “They’re the one wearing all the hats as it relates to marketing the company and they’re using digital content to both stay informed and to help drive their business forward,” AWeber CMO Erik Harbison said. “The survey also shows us that email continues to be a key revenue driver.”
AWeber’s survey finds that as the New Year gets underway, small business owners are optimistic about the success they’ll see in 2015. Almost all (89%) expect more revenue in 2015 compared to 2014 and 87% percent say digital marketing is “very important” to helping them get there.
