AWeber Appoints VP of Architecture Gavin Roy

Chalfont, Pa. March 30, 2014 – AWeber – Email Marketing, names Gavin Roy as VP of Architecture. With nearly two decades of experience in internet application development and architecture, Roy will be responsible for driving architectural direction for new and existing AWeber products. Roy will collaborate with leadership and the AWeber Engineering team to implement new strategies, processes and technologies to foster continuous improvement.

Roy started his career in Internet development in the mid-90′s developing websites and working as an open-source advocate. Roy went on to co-found ReadySetNet, a Hollywood based web development firm servicing many top-tier corporate and entertainment industry clients.

Throughout his career, Roy has held positions as a CTO, CIO and Senior Application Architect. As a hands-on technologist with a passion for open-source software and emerging technologies, Roy is often evaluating new systems, languages and paradigms to discover and embrace best-of-breed methodologies, tools and languages.

“Gavin brings a great deal of high-level strategic vision as well as technical know-how to his role as VP of Architecture,” said CTO Brian Jones. “I look forward to seeing how he helps our operations team improve and grow.”

In addition to his professional roles, Roy is currently active in several open source projects and communities including Python, PostgreSQL and RabbitMQ. Roy is a frequent speaker at a number of industry conferences including PyCon, Velocity and PGCon and is an active member in several professional organizations including PSF, MAAWG and IEEE.
