Introducing Unlimited Image Storage!

Limitations suck. That’s what we think here at AWeber. We don’t really believe in limitations here. We like things to be unlimited, like the number of emails you can send or the number of lists you can have or the amount of image storage you can get for free.

What was that? Did we say unlimited free image storage? We sure did.

…And This Is Why It’s AWesome

Unlimited image storage means you can add all the photos you need for your newsletters without having to delete the ones you already have. Unlimited image storage means you can upload bigger photos – up to 10MB, the same file size as photos snapped on your iPhone.

And the best part? You don’t have to pay anything extra for it. It’s free and it’s active in your account right now.

Unlimited Potential For Your Email Campaigns

So what does unlimited storage mean for your emails?

Bigger Images: Grab Attention

“Hero graphics” are a current trend in email and web design. What’s a hero graphic? It’s a big image at the top of an email or a website that grabs attention and sets the tone (see it in action on AWeber customer Fork Restaurant’s website).

Bigger upload sizes means you can play with this trend in your emails (just don’t make your entire email one big image – here’s why).

Something else to note about bigger, eye-catching images: we optimize the image size to fit in your email for you, so you don’t have to. When you upload an image at full size, we instantly resize it to fit inside your template (but you can always choose to use the original size if you prefer).

More Images: Show Off All Your Products

Any business with lots of products to show off will love this. If you have a lot of items to showcase – maybe from your Etsy shop or other online store – don’t worry about running out of space to store them. Unlimited storage means unlimited potential to show off your wares.

Share Images: From Live Events

At a conference? Hosting a local shindig? Want to let your email list in on the fun? Snap photos with your cell phone, save them to your computer and upload them to your AWeber image gallery to send a recap email after your event.

We increased the upload size to 10MB, which is the perfect size for your iPhone photos taken at conferences, meetups and other events you want to advertise.

  1. That’s awesome because our company has a lot of heirloom seeds photos and they do take up quite a bit of space. Knowing that Aweber allow us to host those photos for our FB, Blog and Website visitors is simply AWESOMEE. Thanks.

  2. Hi Troy,

Glad you’re excited! We are, too.

Just to clarify, the image storage is for images you’re using in your emails, not for images you’re posting outside of AWeber. You can upload photos directly to Facebook to share on your page, and you might look into services like Photobucket, Flickr, ImageShack or Dropbox if you need more photo storage for your site.

Also, I personally like using Pixlr, a free online image editor, to re-size photos that are too big.

    Hope that helps!

  3. When you optimize the image size… does that mean you resize the image or does the resized image also get automatically compressed? That is, if we have YOU host the images, should we compress them?

  6. Hi, this is awesome. Thank you. When is this effective? Been trying to upload a PDF 1.2MB file to a follow up series email but not working. Keep getting the red upload failed message. Thanks!

  8. Liz, It’s in place. It sounds like you are trying to upload an attachment instead of an image; those do have a 1MB limit.
    Andres, Passing it along!
Jos, We store each subscriber in whatever list or lists they subscribe to. Could you perhaps clarify what your concern is?

  9. Thank you Amanda! :)
I mean that if i have the same lead in 10 lists, Aweber counts this lead like it was 10 different leads!

It would be more and more efficient a TAG sistem, so that i have a general list and if the same lead subscribes to other 10 lists, the system calculates only 1 lead, with 10 tags.

    That’s the idea. ;)

Do you think Aweber will do that, soon or later?

  12. I love that your system will automatically re-size the images as they get uploaded. It saves lot of time given that must users don’t know the way out on using image software to manipulate these graphics.

    Excellent service

  16. I am still waiting for the answer to my question… that is, should we compress the images before uploading them or does Aweber do that when it re-sizes them?

    11/21/2013 9:12 am
  17. Hi Michael,

I didn’t see your earlier comment. Sorry about that!

There’s no need to compress your images before uploading them, as long as they’re under 10MB (which is a large file size for photos).

We store your image at its original size, then create an optimized version that’s resized and compressed that you can choose to use in your email if you want. You can also use your original file as-is.

This Knowledge Base article has more info on the different image size selections: https://help.aweber.com/entries/21680591-How-Do-I-Add-Images-To-HTML-Messages-

    Hope that helps!

  18. Hi,
Thanks, for such a informative and helping post, image are the important part of a website and every web developer has to work with it and if we try to implement all the image using code it is tiring and time consuming task so in that case Aweber tools are really helpful in saving time.
