Hi Stuart, I took a look at your page and signup process and have a couple suggestions I think can increase your confirm rate. ------------------------------------------------------------ 1. Set Up a Custom Thank You Page ------------------------------------------------------------ You're currently using the default thank you page that we provide to all AWeber users. While that page does tell people to check their inbox and confirm, since it's a generic page that has to be applicable to all users it doesn't contain any specific information about *your* confirm email. If I were you, I'd create a custom thank you page on your site and use that instead. Here's what I'd put on it: * Name/Email address that the confirm email comes from (you can see and edit this at the bottom of List Settings in your account) * Subject line of the email (you can see/edit this at the Verified Opt-In page of your account) * What they have to do (click the confirm link) * Brief reminder of what they'll begin to get once they do so * You might experiment with throwing in an extra bonus (a 4th video maybe?), saying something on the thank you page like "confirm now and you'll also receive __________" * Video showing them how to click the link - you seem to be comfortable with video, so try using it on the confirm page as well. Example of how we do this: http://www.aweber.com/blog/thank-you/ ------------------------------------------------------------ 2. Reword Your Confirm Email ------------------------------------------------------------ It looks like you stuck pretty closely to the default text that we placed in the confirm email. It will probably be a more effective email if you replace this text with something written in your own voice. I'd start by customizing the subject line - you're using one of our default ones and it doesn't really include any of your own branding. Possible Subject Iterations: Your Response Needed: Activate Your Simple Web Tutorials Response Required: Get Your Quickstart Video Tutorials To Get Your Simple Web 2.0 Videos, Confirm Your Email Address The confirm email also gives you an opportunity to briefly remind your subscribers what it is they'll be getting when they confirm. Sample text you might use in the message body: Thanks for requesting your free Quickstart Video Tutorials! To start learning how to create Web 2.0 applications, please... *** Click The Link Below *** As promised, you'll get access to 3 videos, plus a 4th special bonus video that will get you well on your way to developing your own web app. Obviously you'll want to change that if you elect not to offer an extra video for confirming, but the point is to clearly demonstrate to the recipient what to do and what they'll get by doing so. --- If you don't mind, I'd like to post about this on our blog: http://www.aweber.com/blog/ You're certainly not the only person we've seen use the default thank you page and confirm email, and I think it would be useful to our readers/customers to highlight some of the things that can be done to increase confirm rates. May I blog about this? If so, let me know if you're OK with me using your name/website URL or if you'd prefer to stay anonymous. Hope you found this helpful!
